Clemenger BBDO partnered with Monkii to develop a website aiming to promote the new range of Carlton Dry beer. The website allowed users to submit a story where they ‘did something legendary’. Stories could be submitted via video recorded on a webcam, pre-recorded video, photo or text. The stories were then entered into a web-based moderation queue system.
The site uses the YouTube API to encode all video content immediately and host all video content on YouTube in order to reserve server space and strain on the server due to the site’s heavy traffic. The site also features a webcam streaming service that plugs straight into YouTube as well, allowing users to record their responses straight into YouTube for moderation by the competition judges.
